All live interactive sessions will be recorded
and archived so any members can view them 24/7 and then complete the
quiz and discussion for that unit at the Blackboard.com site.
Attendance in the live interactive sessions is limited to 10 spots so
you must reserve a space if you plan to take part in a live session.
Reservations must be done by sending an e-mail to
jensendds@comcast.net to
specify the session in which you wish to part. You must then receive
confirmation that your space reserved. Thanks for your interest and
participation. The listing of confirmed sessions can be found below -
sessions will normally take place on Tuesday nights from 8-9:00 p.m.
CST.
Background to this experimental
program:
The MNAGD Board of Directors made a decision on September 27, 2002 at
their meeting to fund an experimental program in online CE for MNAGD
members. One to two "program units" will be provided monthly at a
continuous site at Blackboard.com. Send an e-mail to
jensendds@comcast.net to get
your username and password or get registered. Additional "live"
interactive sessions will be conducted with "speakers" one to two times
per month. At the present time, these will be scheduled on Tuesday
evenings from 8-9:00 p.m. at our HorizonLive Channel. The speakers
communicate via Powerpoint slides and audio and participants use a
chatroom and can ask questions and have discussion with audio as well.
This is a chance to interact verbally with speakers from around the
country. The program has been developed over the last few years and has
been functioning for two years in this manner. Video is possible
depending on the speaker and materials. All sessions are archived for
viewing at any time.
The MNAGD is continuing
the Distance Learning Program for 2004-2005 and will be working with
the MDA SSC to provide a variety of online sessions. We will be
doing our usual 1-2 sessions per month and archives for use at any
time. There will be a series of "speaker previews" for
the Star of the North Meeting and some follow-up sessions as
previously done following the MDA Star of the North Meeting in
April. There is a possibility for "Protocol" courses
for the MDA Speaker's as was planned in 2004. PLEASE LOOK FOR THESE
POSSIBILITIES.
For information and any "training",
please contact Mark Jensen.
- Self-Instructional Credits for each
Blackboard.com "Unit" if you complete the quiz after viewing the
content items
- Each participant must also post at
least one discussion item per unit in order to get CE credits
- Virtual Chatroom is available for
discussion via Chatroom 24/7/365
- OHL live interactive sessions are on
an hour-for-hour CE basis as "Lecture Credits". You just need a
microphone and speakers on your computer and a few small items (audio
file from OHL) to be able to participate
- You can watch the archive at any time
for an hour for hour CE credit - just view it at your leisure and send
an e-mail that it has been completed.
Call Mark Jensen at 651-484-5712 and
identify yourself as a MNAGD member who wishes to talk about the online
program if you want telephone help..
- You must reserve a spot for the live
sessions since there is only room for 10 participants (including Mark
Jensen and the speaker) at one time.
- Your spot will be confirmed by Mark
for each session on a first come first serve basis.
